Our 6 days in Fiji were an unforgettable experience. All trips bring their share of wonders, but we believe we have found THE country with the warmest people on earth! First of all, in which other country do we get welcomed to the sound of music accompanied by traditional songs and dances as soon as we get off the plane? In which other country are we greeted by all the people we meet, even while driving? In which other country do we get invited to eat by people we’ve only been talking to for a minute? Many little details like these make Fijians the kindest people we’ve ever had the opportunity to meet. Always happy, helpful, and ready to do anything to make us feel comfortable. I swear to you, it’s true!
The highlights of our trip to the Fiji Islands
Nadi
Our stay in Fiji was very relaxing to say the least. We spent some time swimming at Natadola beach (the most beautiful on the big island of Viti Levu), visiting the Lautoka market, watching Captain Marvel in the movies and fine-tuning the final details of our trip.
Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay
We took advantage of the certificates offered at the annual renewal of our Marriott Bonvoy credit cards to book 2 nights at the Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay, a category 5 hotel offering houses on stilts in a heavenly lagoon setting. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to one of the largest and most luxurious suites in the entire complex, offering the best view over the sunset in the middle of the sea. A buffet style breakfast was included. The package was worth 1500 USD for both nights. What a dream!

Itinerary
It is in the vicinity of Nadi that we have chosen to spend our 6 days in Fiji. It was very convenient because it is also in Nadi that the country’s main airport is located, although the capital Suva is on the same island.
Transportation
To wander around Nadi, we rented a Toyota Aqua, a very fuel-efficient hybrid car.
Accomodation
Before our stay at Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay, we stayed in the centre of Nadi for 4 nights. Upon arrival, our Airbnb hostess graciously offered us an upgrade to a larger apartment because it was free during our stay, and by filling up the fridge!

The cost of our stay for our family of 4 is:

Conclusion
Fiji was an absolute favorite! It is true that our stay at Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay contributed a lot to it. But the beauty of the island of Viti Levu, its culture, its motto “No hurry, no worry!” and above all its people of incomparable kindness are reasons that have transcended our Fijian experience. And we didn’t even visited the other islands! Nevertheless, we now to to return to Fiji! But until then, don’t miss our next adventures in Vanuatu!
